The Ventura County Assessor's Office maintains assessment records of real and personal property in the County. Many of these records are available for sale. This data is available in several formats (i.e., .txt, .xls, .pdf, etc. and deliverable by CD-Rom, email attachments, FTP, etc.). In a joint effort, the Office of the Assessor and the Ventura County Geographical Information System (GIS) also offers GIS READY map base data. Data can be sent via e-mail or FTP; this data consists of shape files - any attribute data must be arranged through the Assessor's Office.

Limited information for individual parcels is freely available from the Assessor’s Property Maps & Data website. More extensive information for individual parcels is freely available in person by visiting our office at the County Government Center, Hall of Administration, located at 800 South Victoria Avenue, Ventura County and utilizing free computer access. A nominal fee may be charged for hardcopies of the information as stated in our Fee Schedule.
When the Assessor's property records with extended characteristics are purchased for an entire Assessment Roll, a signed written agreement is required prior to the release of the data. You can obtain the Agreement Contract here.
Before the data can be released, all products must be paid for in advance. We apologize that we are unable to accept credit cards at this time, however checks or money orders are accepted, and need to be payable to the Ventura County Assessor.
The disclosure and sale of Assessor's information is governed under California Revenue and Taxation Code 408.3 and California Government Code 6250. Certain Assessor's records are deemed "confidential information" and are exempt from public disclosure. These include: Preliminary Change in Ownership Reports (PCOR), Change in Ownership Reports (COS), Business Property Statements (BPS), and market sales information obtained from property owners.
